How to refill Epson Ink Cartridges: A Helpful Guide.

Introduction:

Printing has become an everyday task in the office and household for professional and personal reasons. When was the last time you used a printer? The color printers and the inkjet printers are still utilized in offices and households. The expensive laser printers have not replaced them entirely. If you have recently invested in inkjet printers and have questions about refilling the ink cartridges, this article is for you. Please continue to read on to know more about the type of cartridges available in the market and the key steps to refill the ink cartridges in the Inkjet printer yourself.

How to refill a tricolor cartridge:

The tricolor cartridge encompasses all the three colors in a single cartridge; however, it is segmented to contain them separately. So injecting the colors using the right color coding is essential. Follow the below steps carefully to refill your tricolor cartridge:

  1. Carefully remove the label stuck on top of the cartridge; you can use a craft knife to remove it. Keep your space ready with some tissue paper and a rag, as this job can be messy.
  2. After removing the label, you will see five fill holes for the three colors, which are Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow. Now you have to follow the color coding to fill your cartridge carefully. One hole in the top is for Magenta color; two adjacent holes in two columns will be found. The two holes in the first column are for yellow color, and the two holes in the second column are for the cyan color.
  3. Carefully load your syringe with the color and fill in about 1 ml at a time in the relevant chamber, and you can load about 3ml of the inks in the respective chambers if the cartridges are empty.
  4. You may find the cartridges overflowing when you have some ink left. You can gently suck about 1 ml of the ink with the same syringe if that happens.
  5. Wipe off the excess ink from the cartridge lid using tissue paper and keep the surface of the cartridge clean and dry.
  6. Reapply the label or cover the holes with a sticking tape cut to the label’s size. Make sure the label doesn’t cover the sides of the cartridge, as it might hinder the cartridge from being installed into the printer. Covering the fill holes has to be done carefully so that the inks don’t spill over, nor doesn’t the cover stop the cartridge from getting installed properly.
  7. Carefully place the cartridge back into the space given in the printer, and it’s ready for printing.

How to refill individual cartridges:

Some printer models come with separate cartridges for every color. You will have separate cartridges for black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. Your printer doesn’t print black if the color cartridges are not filled. You might find the below steps useful to refill the separate epson ink cartridges.

  1. Clear your space and cover the space with a rag or cloth to protect your surface.
  2. Carefully remove the cartridges from the printer and remove the label on the top surface. Piece a hole through the label to fill your ink into the cartridge. If you find it hard to remove the label using your hands, gently hover sharp equipment or a screwdriver on the top surface to sense the fill holes.
  3. Carefully load your syringe with the inks and fill the holes. Some inks bottles in the market come with needles to be inserted into these holes carefully.
  4. Keep in mind that these cartridges have a sponge inside, and you have to gently move the needle around to fill in the cartridges. You know the cartridges are full if it starts to ooze out from the fill holes or bottom. Stop filling immediately and gently wipe away the leaked inks from the top using a cloth or rag. Stick on the label or a sticking tape on the surface to protect it from leaking.
  5. Reinstall the cartridges in the printer and close the storage case lid if provided in your model. When you press the button, it tells the printer the cartridges are reinstalled and ready for printing.

Conclusion:

The laser printers have not replaced the inkjet printers as the printing requirements at lesser volumes use the inkjet printers. Printers that come with the tricolor and separate cartridges can be filled with the discussed instructions.
